If you wish to contribute an article, advertorial, blurb, or announcement
about writing, editing, publishing, or book marketing, please review the guidelines below and
submit your item here. Material that does not conform to these guidelines may not be accepted.
- Limit articles to 500 words or less. Only articles that are well written and edited
will be accepted. For help with editing, please see
Common Errors Authors Make.
- There is space for five articles per issue—first come, first served. Include a short bio with your submission so
you may be given proper credit. Put your name in the document file in case your attachment is separated from your email.
You may include one link to your blog or Web site.
- The article must be content rich and about the craft or business of writing,
editing, publishing, or book marketing.
- Use Times New Roman 11 point font.
- You may attach your piece as an MS Word document
or .txt file.
- Promotion of your own material is accepted if it is written in an advertorial (article) style and offers good content
that does not compete with services offered by WITS.
- No text boxes or photos will be
accepted.
- Book reviews are accepted as long as they are well written and edited.
Please use the format outlined in this document:
Book Review Format.
- Poetry is accepted. One short work per person
(of less than 25 lines)
will be published in each issue.
Do not double space between line breaks. Do use double return
between verses. Put your name at the bottom of your poem in the document file in case your attachment is separated from your email.
- All book titles should be in italics,
do NOT use quotation marks or all caps.
- Titles of songs, poems, and movies are to be set with enclosed quotation marks.
- Announcements of upcoming events, personal accomplishments, special offers, are accepted.
Keep these to 250 words or less.
Each submitting writer retains the copyright to his or her own piece of literature and may use it elsewhere.
Since WITS does not charge a fee for the newsletter,
we are unable to pay for submittals. However, the networking opportunity
and exposure to approximately 3,000 readers is priceless.
The newsletter will be sent on the first Tuesday of each month.
All submittals must be received by the 24th day
of the month prior.
