Current Book Projects

Our on-going editing work for Hal Leonard Publishing and Nightengale Press affords us the opportunity to give you a sneak preview of the books we are working on now. The following titles will be published in 2008.

Yvonne Perry completed her work as a developmental editor for Carl David on a fabulous memoir about Carl's father who was an art dealer and small twin-engine airplane pilot in the 1970s. Pub date set for November 2008 by Nightengale Press.


The Future of the Music Business How to Succeed with the New Digital Technologies A Guide for Artists and Entrepreneurs. Authored by Steve Gordon, this book will be the second edition of the title published in 2005. The book has been indexed and is headed to New York for printing. See Client Books page for more.


1,000 Songwriting Ideas for Brave and Passionate People written by Lisa Aschmann, edited by Barbara Milbourn, published by Hal Leonard. This book has been published and is available on Barnes and Noble.com. See Client Books page for more.


The Business of Audio Engineering by Dave Hampton, edited by Yvonne Perry, published by Hal Leonard. This book has gone to press and is now available. See Client Books page for more.


Guerrilla Home Recording, Revised and Expanded Second Edition written by Karl Coryat, edited by Barbara Milbourn, published by Hal Leonard. This book is now available. The first edition of Guerilla Home Recording is still available (Imprint: Music Pro Guides). See Client Books page for more.


Secrets of Life Power written by Barry Gallagher, edited by Barbara Milbourn, published by Nightengale Press. This book is now available through Nightengale Press.


The Sage Age: Blending Science with Intuitive Wisdom by MaAnna Stephenson was released by Nightengale Press in September 2008. The manuscript was edited by Yvonne Perry.


Yvonne Perry assisted as a developmental editor for Dr. Mark Hinkes' book, Keep the Legs You Stand On. The book, focused on prevention of foot ulcers and lower extremity amputations, is geared toward an international audience of people who suffer with diabetes. The book includes interviews from experts who discuss orthotics, vascular disease, the circulatory, arterial, venous and lymphatic systems, neuropathy, and buying prescription footwear for the diabetic patient. This book will be a must-read for doctors, diabetic patients, and their caregivers. Read more.


Greg Forest's book, The Music Business Contract Library, was edited by Yvonne Perry, proofread by Barbara Milbourn and is now available for purchase.


Succeeding in Music, Business Chops for Performers and Songwriters written by John Stiernberg has been edited by our team and is in production at Hal Leonard Books.


Bobby Owsinski's The Drum Recording Handbook was edited by Yvonne Perry and is in production at Hal Leonard Publishing (Imprint: Music Pro Guides). The book, coauthored by Dennis Moody, will soon be available on Amazon.com.  See Client Books page for more.


A book written by David A. Martin titled Mixing the Hits of Country was edited by Yvonne Perry and is in production stage. Soon to be released by Music Pro Guides (a division of Hal Leonard Books).


The Reel World written by Jeff Rona was edited by Barbara Milbourn, proofread by Yvonne Perry and will be ready for production (Imprint: Backbeat) in October. See Client Books page for more.


Yvonne edited Power Tools for Pro Tools 7.4 authored by Rick Silva for Backbeat (a division of Hal Leonard Books). Barbara Milbourn will provide proofreading. See Client Books page for more.


How to Make Your Band Sound Great, authored by Bobby Owsinski, has just been received and is being edited by Barbara Milbourn. This Music Pro Guides Imprint is set for a November pub date. See Client Books page for more.


Other WITS Projects

Yvonne Perry edited a book for a client about recovering from her daughter's suicide through the guidance of her spirit guides. The author is looking for a traditional publisher and WITS believes this book is well worth the risk a publisher might take with a new author. The author is working with Yvonne to create a full book proposal and a one-page query letter.

Yvonne also released and is promoting her new eBook Book Promotion in the Digital Age, Online Marketing Made Easy and is putting together a mentoring program for new freelance writers beginning January 2009.

Her other projects for October include:

  • back cover text for Donna Brown's book, Prayers to Heal and Comfort and to Bless
  • a media release for Genetic Assays, Inc.
  • rewriting Web text for a bio-fuel company
  • a bio for a Twitter friend
  • editing books for two clients
  • writing articles and press releases for Rita Alexander and International Stem Cell Institute - her stem cell treatment facility in Mexico.

Barbara Milbourn is editing or proofreading four books. She is also editing articles for Linda Ballou—adventure travel writer of the North American Travel Journalist Association—and editing a second book for this returning client.


Sarah Moore is working on the following projects:

  • blogging for an attorney and a financial advisor
  • handling all book reviews and promotional text for authors who will be guests on our podcast
  • editing an eBook on exercise
  • recently finished a media kit for Dennis Snow
  • creating Web site text for Amy Martin
  • writing press releases

  • Ongoing design and layout for the monthly WITS Newsletter
  • Recently designed two Web sites for Autumn Key
  • Recently completed a newsletter for the University Club of Nashville
  • Remade a cleaning logo and designed a tri-fold brochure and seven sheet inserts for Autumn Key's cleaning company.
  • Created the logo, business cards, magnets, and a newspaper ad, and designed tri-fold brochures for pet sitting company.
  • Created two banners, a pop-up, a label, business cards, and letterhead for Short Sleeves Insights and Short Sleeves 2008 Collection for Hal Manogue.
  • Set up book for print, designed coloring page, framed picture, and remade joyful paws logo for Barbara Techel and Frankie the Walk 'n Roll og.
  • Provided layout for a two-week ad and designed brochure and business card for Bernice Burns.
  • Designed a logo, business cards, letterhead/envelope, labels, post card and a Web site for an author.
  • Provided business card and logo design, stickers, and book cover designs for seven books for a bishop.

Joe is working with Culture Grits Magazine writing interest stories about music in Memphis.  He also completed a music bio for a Nashville artist.
